AIA Carnival returns to Hong Kong in December; tickets available in late-September
The AIA Carnival, one of the city’s largest outdoor event, will return to Hong Kong at the Central Harbourfront on December 21, the organizers announced Wednesday.
Tickets will be available for sale starting late-September and more details about the carnival will be released at that time as well.
The long-awaited return was announced at the Hong Kong Observation Wheel this afternoon as the gigantic timer device kicked start the count down – 232 days until the carnival’s opening.
Apart from the rides and game booths, it is expected there will be more attractions and new experiences for visitors. The carnival will also run through Christmas, New Year’s Eve and the Lunar New Year holidays.
AIA, one of the organizers and the title sponsor, also announced it will be giving out unlimited free tickets to the Observation Wheel on May 20 and 21 (Sat & Sun).
Alger Fung Wai-cheong, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Hong Kong and Macau, said the carnival has become one of Hong Kong’s most well-known and recognized family event.
Fung hoped by sponsoring the event and giving out free Observation Wheel tickets, the carnival can bring more joy and happiness to the society and also echo the government’s “Hello Hong Kong” and “Happy Hong Kong” campaigns.
Olympian Siobhan Haughey, also the AIA Hong Kong & Macau Ambassador, said the carnival is an unmissable attraction and looks forward to the carnival’s return after a four-year hiatus.
She is also more than happy to spend some quality time with friends and family at the carnival.
