AFCD staffer dies after bee sting while on duty at Chi Ma Wan Country Trail
A 64-year-old staff member of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department died on Friday morning after being stung by a bee while on duty at the Chi Ma Wan Country Trail.
The male staffer was walking along the trail with colleagues near Mong Tung Wan for work at around 10.21 am when he was stung by a bee and fell unconscious.
His colleagues immediately filed a report with authorities with a Government Flying Service helicopter called in to fly the man to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for resuscitation. He was certified dead around noon.
It is understood that the man was working with his four other colleagues to carry out anti-mosquito and plantation work when the tragedy happened.
