A middle-aged couple was found dead in a village house in Fanling on Tuesday, suspected of committing suicide due to economic difficulties.
Police received a report at around 11 am that the pair fell unconscious on their bed with a pot of burnt charcoal nearby.
Officers rushed to the scene but found the couple dead. They found a suicide note in the house, and the windows were sealed by tapes.
The couple, 47-year-old Wong and his 49-year-old girlfriend Lee, moved to the village house seven months ago and worked for renovation services, according to Ng, the man who reported the police.
He added he visited the couple this morning, but nobody answered the door.
