50,000 daily quotas to set for ports in Futian, Man Kam To and Shenzhen for cross-border travel
It is learned that the Hong Kong government decided to grant a total of 50,000 quotas per day for cross-border travel with mainland China via three ports including Futian(Lok Ma Chau), Man Kam To, and Shenzhen Bay.
All commuters crossing the three ports are required to register on an online system to get the quota on a first-come, first-served basis, according to local media reports.
Futian Port - which connects Hong Kong with Shenzhen via Lok Ma Chau Spur Line - could be spared with 35,000 quotas each day, while 10,000 travellers can cross Shenzhen Bay Port and 5,000 quotas for the Man Kam To Port. Relevant plans are still to be implemented.
The West Kowloon high-speed rail and Luohu Port may not be set to open during the initial stage after the cross-border travel recovered, the sources added.
