251 guests slapped with HK$5,000 penalty tickets at bar opening overnight
A Sham Shui Po bar was found breaching the Covid rules for opening after 2am on Friday and a total of 251 guests were each slapped with a fixed penalty ticket, bringing in over HK$1.25 million to the treasury.
After intelligence analysis, Sham Shui Po police targeted and raided that bar at the basement on Tai Nam Street around 4am this early morning.
The male operator surnamed Lam, 43, was arrested for breaching Cap 599F Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation.
As for the 151 men and 100 women aged between 20 and 65, they were all handed a HK$5,000 penalty ticket.
Police also found one of the guests -- a 48-year-old man surnamed Chan -- was a wanted person for breaching the rehabilitation order. He and Lam were both remanded in custody.
